Original Print - Aquatinted Etching, which started with a sugar lift process.
Inspired by a break in the Tamarisk hedges at West Wittering, this image of a Silhouetted couple on a beach was created from a simple sugar-lift painting on a metal plate, which was then aquatinted to create different a slight variant of depth of colour by successive burns in the acid.
It is individually printed in brown on cream paper with torn paper edges. On printing the etched plate left an indent in the damp paper which measures 14.5cm high and 19.5cm across.
the brown ink has created a slightly dramatic print. It is sold as an unframed print wrapped in cellophane so you can chose how to frame it. A similar and same sized, but but softer print can be paired up with this image - search for "That Day the sun and wind came off the sea" on this site.
