Inspired by a break in the Lime Trees at Denbies Vineyard, this image of a almost silhouetted trees against the vines was created from a simple sugar-lift painting on a metal plate, which was then aquatinted to create different variants of depth of colour by successive burns in the acid, and inked in various green inks. This printed plate inked in this colouring was exhibited at the RA in 1994 where the print run sold out. It is the only remaining Artists Proof in this colouring.
It was individually printed on cream paper with torn paper edges. On printing the etched plate left an indent in the damp paper which measures 14.5cm high and 19.5cm across.
It is sold as an unframed print wrapped in cellophane so you the the purchaser can chose how to frame it. A similar but softer coloured colour proofs from of this plate are on this website.
